Brace design

Six Month Smiles has a discreet design, incorporating clear-coloured brackets and tooth-coloured wires, so your appearance will not change dramatically. The braces use low force to guide your teeth into a desired position.

Orthodontic treatment can help restore your self esteem and improve your dental health and hygiene. Six Month Smiles can also treat crowding and spacing issues. Many of our patients feel their desire to smile is restored and teeth without unnatural gaps are easier to maintain in terms of dental hygiene. Correctly aligned teeth are easier to clean and do not attract as much plaque and tartar.

Main benefits of Six Month Smiles:

  • Discreet design.
  • Short treatment period – teeth are moved in a quarter of the time compared with traditional brace methods.
  • Minimal discomfort.
  • More cost-effective than other methods.
  • Do not affect speech for longer than 2 weeks.

What is involved in treatment?

You will need to attend an initial consultation so that the right treatment course can be established and your eligibility for Six Month Smiles can be assessed. Once this has been confirmed, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth so that your braces are an exact fit for your teeth. The brace hardware will also be constructed. Once your impressions have been sent back from the lab, your dentist can fit the braces to your teeth, sticking the brackets to the front surface of your teeth. Your progress will be reviewed every 5-6 weeks by your orthodontist here at Cornerhouse.

You will need to wear a retainer post-treatment to ensure that your teeth do not return to their original position. Please ask your dentist more about this.
