Children
We refer our child patients to a specialist orthodontist who can work with you and your child, discussing the various methods that can be applied to resolve complications with misaligned teeth. We’re also able to create a tailored treatment plan that works for you and your child.
We offer Six Month Smiles to our adult patients, which is a fast-acting treatment designed to straighten teeth in 6-9 months.
What are the benefits of Six Month Smiles?
- Treatment is comfortable as gentle pressure is applied.
- Short treatment time/quick results.
- Cost-effective.
- Discreet, using tooth-coloured brackets and clear wires.
What can I expect at my treatment appointments?
Your dentist will photograph you’re your teeth and face and take dental impressions of your lower and upper jaw. Your braces will be made up in the dental laboratory and then sent back to us so we can fit them for you. You will need to come in for check-ups every 4-6 weeks which depends on how intensive your treatment plan is.
Your natural speech might be affected temporarily afterwards and you may experience some sensitivity for a couple of days after they are fitted.
Six Month Smile braces use tooth-coloured wires and clear brackets, which means the appliance goes virtually noticed by others. It is a great option for patients who feel self-conscious about wearing a brace. Six Month Smiles combines state-of-the-art orthodontic technology with high quality aesthetics, which makes it one of the most reliable teeth-straightening treatments our there.
Six Month Smiles can be used to prepare your teeth for other cosmetic treatments such as dental veneers, for which your teeth need to be the correct shape, size and aligned correctly.
Unfortunately, there are some foods that you have to avoid, as Six Month Smiles are fixed braces. These include:
- Nuts
- Popcorn/sticky confectionary.
- Chewy meat that you’re not able to cut into small pieces. Try to stick to soft foods that do not require too much breaking down int your mouth such as soup, stew, polenta and pasta.
