Dentures

A denture can replace any number of teeth on a removable plate.

Dentures could be made from all plastic or a mixture of metal and plastic. Both may come with or without clasps to help keep the dentures in place in your mouth. A cosmetic denture is different from a conventional denture because of the lifelike appearance of the teeth. They are strong and robust enough to chew almost anything.

Why do I have to replace my missing teeth?

This will improve chewing and prevent the wear and over use of your remaining natural teeth. When you have lost your natural teeth and don’t do anything to replace the missing teeth, your remaining teeth may drift into the open gaps and spaces in your mouth. It will also fill out your lips and cheeks stopping the sunken appearance of your mouth, which is ageing.

The manufacture of a denture takes 4-6 weeks depending on the choice of materials and the complexity of the case.

What are cosmetic dentures?

A denture can replace any number of teeth on a removable plate.

What are dentures made of?

Your dentures could be made from all plastic or a mixture of metal and plastic. Both may come with or without clasps to help keep the denture in place in the mouth.

What is a cosmetic denture and why is it different from other dentures?

The difference between conventional dentures and our cosmetic dentures is the life-like appearance of the teeth. Working with very talented dental technicians we manufacture teeth, which not only look natural but are strong and robust enough to be able to chew anything.

What does the process involve?

The process is simple and takes 4 stages. During the first two stages, very accurate measurements and impressions are taken of your mouth and jaw and a decision is made on your choice of colour and shape of your new teeth. The third stage is when we trial a wax replica in your mouth and make any adjustments needed. At the final stage, the newly finished cosmetic denture is delivered to you.

How long does it take for me to receive my dentures?

The manufacturing of a denture takes 4 – 6 weeks depending on the choice of materials and the complexity of the case.

How long will they last?

Cosmetic Dentures should last for many years with appropriate care.

Do I still need to go to the dentist if I have dentures?

Yes, it is very important to maintain good oral hygiene and to have your teeth and gums checked regularly by your dentist. Bone and gum ridges can shrink, causing the jaws to meet differently. If that is the case then the denture may have to be re-lined or re-made because of normal wear or a change in the shape of the mouth.
