Implants and dentures – ways to replace missing teeth

Replacing a missing tooth is vital to your everyday and overall health as well as to your self confidence. Read on to find out more about your options when it comes to replacing a missing tooth.

Dentures

Here at Cornerhouse, dentures can be made uniquely from plastic or from an amalgamation of metal and plastic. They are available with or without clasps to help keep them positioned in your mouth. There are several types of dentures available including cosmetic, immediete and conventional and they are strong enough to chew through anything. Conventional full dentures are made and then placed in your mouth once the remaining teeth have been removed and the surrounding tissues have healed. An immediate complete denture can be inserted once the remaining teeth are removed. Your dentist here at Cornerhouse will create models of your jaw and record measurements

Dentures will prevent any complications you have with speaking and eating as well as significantly improving the appearance of your mouth and teeth.

Complete dentures – a full set of dentures to replace all of your upper and lower teeth.

Partial dentures – replace a single tooth of a few missing teeth.

Dental implants: why replace missing teeth?

Replacing a missing tooth will considerably improve your ability to chew, as well as prevent further wear and tear on your natural teeth. The longer a gap is allowed to stay in your mouth, the more likely it is that your natural teeth will start to drift out of place and into the gap, causing potential need for orthodontic treatment. Replacing teeth will also fill out your cheeks and lips, preventing your features from appearing ’sunken’. You can read more about this in detail here – ‘Why replace a missing tooth’?
