Emergency Dentist Norwich
Here at Corner House Dental, we offer private emergency appointments at our emergency dentist in Norwich as well as a general dental surgery, meaning we can provide dental care for patients when they need it most.
Unlike routine dental check-ups, which are booked in advance to assess your general oral health, emergency appointments are made when immediate action is required to treat trauma, severe pain, or sudden discomfort in the mouth.
Why might you require emergency dental treatment?
There’s a multitude of reasons why you may need dental care urgently – if you have any of the following symptoms or issues, we highly recommend contacting our reception to book an emergency appointment:
Requiring immediate attention from a dentist, a dental abscess is a growing build-up of pus within your tooth’s pulp created by an infection. Dental abscesses are very painful and will require urgent treatment, such as a prescription of antibiotics, drainage, or root canal.
Damaged or knocked-out teeth
Trauma to the mouth can lead to damaged or even displaced teeth that need emergency attention. In the event of a knocked-out tooth, only touch the crown, refraining from touching the root, and position the tooth back into its socket. If that fails, place it within a container of milk and bring it to your emergency appointment.
Sudden and severe tooth pain is a cause to seek medical attention, as it could be a sign of infection, which may lead to an abscess or even sepsis.
Other symptoms of infection include a sour taste, swelling, fever, or difficulty swallowing.
Excessively bleeding gums
Frequent and excessive bleeding from the gums could be a sign of periodontal disease, which can damage the soft tissue around your teeth – your emergency dentist will examine your gums and determine the most appropriate treatment.

When to book in with your private emergency dentist in Norwich?
As soon as you start to experience any of the listed issues and symptoms, get in touch with our practice to book your emergency appointment.
The more promptly you contact us and make your appointment, the faster the issue will be addressed – you could even minimise the risk of a dangerous problem developing in some cases, such as sepsis.
Here at Corner House Dental, we only offer private emergency dental treatments – we don’t provide emergency NHS treatments.
The price of an emergency appointment is a set fee of £150, which must be paid at the time of booking to secure your appointment.
The £150 fee will go towards your emergency treatment on the day, but if you require further or more lengthy treatment, your dentist will advise you on your next steps and provide a price estimate of the procedure.
