How does the Six Month Smiles process work?
Consultation: firstly, a consultation appointment will determine your suitability for treatment. We will examine your teeth and assess the extent of the crowding, alignment and spacing issues present.
Preparation and planning: using state-of-the-art software, we can carefully plan how your treatment will unfold, with a high degree of predictability and accuracy. The software creates 3D images of your teeth, which are then used to create your bespoke braces and custom brace hardware. The wires will be made to emulate your exact tooth shade.
Creating your braces: we will send off the relevant information to the dental lab, who create your bespoke braces. These are then sent back to the practice, and we can invite you in for a fitting appointment.
Check-ups: as well as performing a fitting we will plan checkups to observe your progress. You can expect between 3-7 adjustments.
Retainer: you’ll be given a retainer to wear after the brace-wearing period is complete. This ensures your teeth don’t revert back into their original position immedietly after your braces come off.
If you’re looking to improve your bite or to address other more complex issues like an overbite or underbite, we will suggest a different course of treatment, for example Invisalign. It’s also possible to close small gaps with veneers treatment. During your consultation appointment, we will outline all your options so you can make an informed decision.
